Exploring Yosemite in Watercolor

In this creative workshop, you’ll gain the skills to plan and paint a dynamic landscape scene. This workshop is perfect for beginning artists. Start with the basics, and let nature inspire you, as you join Fisher and fellow artists for a fun day of painting outside. As you build skills and work toward creating your own piece of art, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy the meditative nature of putting watercolor to paper.

Tuolumne Meadows Geology

Yosemite’s remarkable rock formations are among the park’s most recognizable features. On this guided weekend adventure, explore some of those famous features in the Tuolumne Meadows area with a park geology expert. During two day hikes, you’ll get the inside (and ancient) story of Yosemite’s peaks, domes and cliffs.

Growing Up in Yosemite: The Spirited Life of Florence Hutchings

What was life like for a child raised in Yosemite in the 19th century? Meet Florence Hutchings. Born in Yosemite Valley in 1864 to hotel entrepreneur James Mason Hutchings, “Flo” was an adventurous, spirited girl who rebelled against powerful cultural forces pushing her toward femininity. Join Flo, portrayed by Audrey Davis, as she looks back on her brief but full 17-year life; explores her connections with nature and with fellow Valley-dwellers, including mentor John Muir; and reflects on the high peak that bears her name.

Pastel Landscapes for Beginners

Enjoy the beginning of autumn in Yosemite with gifted pastel artist Tsungwei Moo, who will share her personal artistic perspective and encourage you to find your own unique style. Let your imagination respond to the shifting light and shadows, as you learn the delights of pastel and the specific skills needed to complete a beautiful picture.
